Blue Moon's Rising Moon
Monday, June 2, 2008   9:07 PM

Dinner tonight was spicy burgers, so I had a Blue Moon Rising Moon Spring Ale. It's a wheat beer brewed with lime leaves and zest.

Drinkable, but as with the Longshot Grape Ale and the Rogue Chipotle Ale, the extra flavoring was for the most part pretty hard to pick out. There was a hint of it, but not as much as I wanted.

I think I prefer just adding my own fresh lime to a lager: much crisper that way. That said, the last bit in my glass was very limey indeed — I'll try the German "rolling bottle" trick next time to even out the sediment and perhaps the taste.

Looking forward to trying the Blue Moon Harvest Moon Pumpkin Ale this fall. Town Hall's spectacular pumpkin ale completely sold me on that style.
