So I lost my job editing mystery shopper reports.
This isn't entirely unexpected, as I've been doing more and more work at my mysterious full-time job, and it's become increasingly difficult to finish editing even one survey during my downtime or freetime — especially when I nearly always, always have to call the shopper for additional information.
I thought about quitting on many occasions, but I loved the editing...
Much more frustrating than my firing was the extraneous bit of text that I found in my final email to the employer — after I'd already sent it, of course.
It's one thing to have your work affected by time constraints, but it's quite another to have an obvious error in an email to one of your only editing job references. I proofread it a few times before I sent it out, but I didn't think that there might be leftover writing below my signature.
Everyone makes mistakes, but that was probably the worst possible time for one. Fantastic last impression you made there, Dan.
