Happy New Year, folks. I had too much to drink, unfortunately, or rather I had too many different things to drink: the champagne was almost certainly a bad idea. Actually, "bad idea" was probably several drinks before the champagne.
I think that this first day of the new year will be a profoundly lazy one. My biggest ambition is to make the "Best Scrambled Eggs" from How to Cook Everything, assuming that the heavy cream in the fridge isn't sour.
Sometimes I feel like I wasted 2007, but looking back — at the job I got, at the house I moved into to (as a renter, but still), at the friends I made and the fun I had — I think I did pretty well. This past year just went by so fast.
I have some goals for this year, and plenty of schemes for when it warms up again, but I'm not a huge fan of public New Year's resolutions: merely intending to do something isn't especially praiseworthy when your only obstacle in the past was a lack of willpower.
