Just watched the last episode (apparently ever) of Journeyman. That show ended up being surprisingly good, and it had a nice, strong series finale.
Unlike, say, Daybreak.
I got back from Xmas in B-town earlier tonight. The drive home wasn't fun — the roads were slushy, and occasionally icy — but it was still far less stressful than the drive up on Monday, which I stretched to four hours by initially refusing to get my brother Matt a gift certificate. Despite his very exact specifications, the items on Matt's list proved surprisingly difficult to find.
My entire family conspired to bamboozle me: I have an Xbox 360 again. It's hard to get too excited about this when I had Ben's as recently as last Friday, but it was still an incredible gift — not least because I didn't even think to put such a thing on my list.
I'm somewhat embarrassed to be mentioning something so extravagant — this is easily "Christmas-and-birthday" territory — but I decided that this is less awkward than pretending I don't have one, or that I bought my own after so much public fussing over when and if I would.
The most exciting present? A hilarious camo apron my mom got me. I really needed one, what with how messy my cooking usually gets, and I'd asked for something "suitably manly." It comes with a matching oven mitt and potholder.
There's a lot more to write about (i.e. more than "what I got for Christmas yesterday"), but for now, suffice it to say that the past four or five days have been hectic. Tomorrow will be a welcome break from all this holiday-making.
