So yesterday night I had my half-assed Halloween party; most of my guests are still scattered throughout the house, sleeping off the festivities.
Jenna, Markie, Jess, and Caitlin showed up early, and our pre-party game of King's Cup turned into the most consecutive rounds of that game I've ever seen. I didn't really have anything planned for us, but in retrospect we could have done with a bit more variety.
Eventually the girls ended up playing some weird game I didn't understand. With clapping.
From left to right: Markie as a squirrel, Jess as a satyr, Jenna as the Little Prince (at Amelia's party I was surprised at how obscure people thought this was), Caitlin as Frida Kahlo, and Shelley as a pirate.
Not pictured: Nick as a pirate, Barry as Barry, Nick's brother and his girlfriend as a '70s bride and groom, Amelia as Mary Poppins, and Peter, my friend from work, who with the help of his daughter managed to come dressed as a fairy princess.
Oh, and I was Sylar again — now that the Halloween parties are over, it's so nice to be able to shave.
I was originally going to call this party "Dan Saves Halloween," but most of what I had hoped to do (a fire, decorations, maybe a showing of the horror classic Scream) didn't happen. As it was, preparation for this party dominated most of my Saturday. The biggest time-sink was the pumpkin pie I made (completely from scratch!) but I'd do that again in a second: that pie was delicious.
Except for the costumes and the "Big Red Monster" bottle of wine, you wouldn't know this was a Halloween party at all. Still, it was a good time.
