Just came back from seeing Pan's Labryrinth, a very good film, as you may have heard. The kind of movie I'm prettymuch positive Jinx has already seen, maybe twice.
Without giving too much of anything away — because the less you know, the better — the film is easily (and no doubt "correctly") interpreted as an extended metaphor, though what really resonated with me was the element of what I (and ze Germans) have taken to calling the "neo-phantastisch."
Roughly: the use of obviously fantastical elements in an otherwise realistic setting for purposes other than simple horror or mystery. I love this kind of thing, and it seems like once I started looking for it I began to see it everywhere.

Anyways: recommended.
